**Job Description Summary**

The Engine and Accessory drive sumps design responsible is the primary engineering owner of the NPI execution of the engine and accessory drive bearings and seals for the next generation fighter engine (GCAP).



In this role you will work within the Military Design Engineering section as Hardware Owner for the subjected important engine components (engine main bearings, accessory drive bearings, sump seals, sump design) and will interface Italian Military customer / Engine development partners (Rolls Royce and IHI) / Supply Chain (Manufacturing, Quality and Sourcing).



**Job Description**



**Essential Responsibilities**



+ Prime engineering responsible for the components NPI execution through the Avio Aero NPI process.

+ Prime engineering support to the formal components developments Reviews.

+ Own the components/module design and development modifications to adopt key technologies and optimize the system design.

+ Establish an efficient coordination of the design activities from different engineering organizations.

+ Provide all required engineering support to the components prototypes definition and production to feed the development engines.

+ Provide all required engineering support to the components/module engineering and certification tests definition, tests plan, tests rig design-procurement-setup, tests execution and component certification/module final certification.



**Qualifications/Requirements**



+ Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent knowledge or work experience.

+ Basic experience in mechanical design and baseline use of CAD tools (Unigraphix).

+ Great accountability/collaboration & interpersonal/communication skills.

+ Technical Program management and execution/coordination skills.

+ Good execution/coordination skills.

+ Fluent in written and spoken English and Italian

+ Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required.



**Desired Characteristics**



+ Previous hardware ownership experience.

+ Experience in aero-engines component or module design.

+ Previous experience in cost and value engineering.

+ Advanced Unigraphics CAD tool.
