Plant Accountant

We are seeking an Plant Accountant to support our Tulare, CA Finance team. This role will primarily be responsible for providing analysis of key plant performance metrics, sharing insights with plant operations leadership of performance trends, and ensuring policy compliance with monthly financial reporting.

Salary: 65K to 98K (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct month-end responsibilities including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and management reports.
  • Prepare and assess fixed asset capital requests.
  • Prepare and present financial and operating metrics to the plant leadership team to drive continuous improvement in plant costs.
  • Code, Investigate and resolve invoices.
  • Other duties as necessary.

Experience & Education (Required):

  • Bachelors is required with a minimum of 2 years experience in Manufacturing Accounting preferred in Food, Dairy or related industries.
  • Preferred Bachelors in Finance or Accounting
  • Must have a strong aptitude for numbers, be well organized, and be able to demonstrate proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, JDE and other ERP systems.
  • Sound understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience in FP&A highly desirable.

Competencies-Skills (Required):

  • Knowledge of ERP software highly preferred.
  • MS Office with intermediate skills in Excel.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Effectively communicates with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Executes outstanding internal customer communication and relationship building techniques.

Experience-Education (Preferred):

  • Cost accounting experience in the Dairy industry.
  • Data analysis to drive business decisions/results.
  • Masters degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • CMA
