As part of its core mission, the Supervision & Regulation (S&R) Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is responsible for supervising and regulating state-chartered banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System, bank holding companies, and financial holding companies. Organizations within the boundaries of the Seventh District are located within Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa. S&R plays a critical role in The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago's core mission, supervising and regulating state-chartered banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System, bank holding companies, financial holding companies and savings and loan holding companies. Our duty is to foster the stability, integrity, and efficiency of the nation's monetary, financial and payment systems to promote optimal economic performance.

The Supervision Analysis job family supports the supervision process for the Community, Regional and Specialty Bank (CRSB) Supervision, Large Bank Supervision, Risk Management, and Quantitative Analysis job families with analytics, data gathering and quality assurance. Members of the Supervision Analysis job family conduct analysis, perform research, develop, and generate analytical tools through broad exposure to a variety of data and information tools.

The Senior Supervision Analyst draws on professional experience and knowledge to independently prepare supervisory data, conduct research, and develop and generate moderately complex to complex analytical tools. The Senior Supervision Analyst independently disseminates information to key external constituents as well as internal constituents throughout the department and Bank.
This position is focused on the System Cybersecurity Program and requires significant coordination across high-level stakeholders from the Board of Governors and other Reserve Banks as well as a complex understanding of the cybersecurity supervisory process and priorities for ensuring a System-focused resource allocation process and strategy.

The level of work is generally considered advanced, and staff must be able to work under minimal supervision. This position has no direct reports.

Your Responsibilities

  • Draw on professional experience to support the overall supervision of financial institutions by preparing supervisory data, conducting research, developing, generating, and implementing moderately complex to complex analytical tools and products
  • Independently evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of supervisory and reporting processes, procedures, and requirements; provide recommendation to improve such areas
  • Independently prepare moderately complex to complex briefing materials for key stakeholders across the System
  • Analyze cybersecurity supervisory priorities across the Large and Foreign Banking Organizations (LFBO) and Significant Service Provider (SSP) portfolios and allocation of System Cybersecurity Program resources to the highest priority activities
  • Develop and communicate supervisory analytics to the Board of Governors and System stakeholders to inform prioritization of LFBO and SSP supervisory activities
  • Work closely with the Board of Governors and System stakeholders to ensure System Cybersecurity Program resource allocation reflects the strategic direction of the LFBO and SSP portfolios
  • Develop, implement, and lead project plans, timelines, and milestones for complex projects
  • Create and provide complex analysis, reports, documents, and other correspondence to internal and external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strategic work relationships and networks with both internal and external stakeholders, such as other Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors
  • Serve as a mentor and/or coach; provide technical expertise and constructive feedback; train and help develop staff members

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Five plus years of direct work-related experience
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and execute risk focused supervision and process the ability to help others to do so; demonstrate the ability to apply complex concepts and inter-dependencies in completing tasks
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude
  • Demonstrate advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate independent and critical thinking and decision-making abilities as well as have strong written and oral communication abilities

Location

This position is considered a Hybrid Position, which will require your presence at one of the 7th District office- Chicago, Detroit, or Des Moines

Other Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%
