**Job Description Summary**

This position is for a Manufacturing Engineering co-op role within Dayton Cores & Castings manufacturing engineering team. This role will support the engineering team to industrialize & optimize new technology as well as improve product costs & manufacturing efficiencies. In this role you will collaborate very closely with and support Product & Process Owners within the engineering team on critical projects that align with business objectives.



**Job Description**



**Essential Responsibilities**



+ Support technical problem solving of complex yield challenges with data analysis, root cause investigation, and countermeasure development

+ Lead projects to improve manufacturing efficiencies through close collaboration with Process Owners and production team members

+ Lead engineering studies to evaluate influence and interactions of process variables/parameters with respect to product quality performance

+ Perform hands-on trials within manufacturing process to drive increased understanding of process variation and necessary controls

+ Identify, lead, and complete of one shop floor improvement project with focus on lean principles (waste elimination)

+ Clearly summarize and communicate your project findings and results within the cores engineering team as well as other business stakeholders



**Qualifications/Requirements**



+ Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA off a 4.0 scale without rounding

+ Reliable transportation, many of our sites do not have public transportation available

+ Attending a full time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program

+ Due to access to export-controlled information, you must be one of the following: (1) US Citizen or national; (2) US permanent resident; (3) Person granted refugee status; (4) Person granted asylee status or Beneficiary of legalization through an amnesty program, or (5) other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
