Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City has an opening for a ten-week summer paid internship position in Regional Economics at the Denver Branch office. The position will assist staff economists in developing data visualization products that communicate research findings and statements about monetary policy via engaging and accessible digital publication tools.

What does a Regional Affairs Economics Intern do?

Provide support for Bank research and digital publishing activities
Visualize data in dynamic formats that allow audience to draw proper conclusions of analysis
Develop and document data visualization practices for Bank website publications

What skills and experience does Regional Affairs Economics Interns need?

Candidates having earned an undergraduate degree, or are currently enrolled, in economics, data science or mathematics are preferred. Highly qualified individuals having earned an undergraduate degree, or are currently enrolled, in digital marketing, communications, or similar programs may also be considered. Students must be within one to two years of graduation.

Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the Bank grants an accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

Exceptional academic record
Strong analytical foundation

Experience with Tableau, R studio and other data management tools
Solid written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently toward desired goals
